We hereby state that none of our Detec Software, including the popular Detec Next platform, are vulnerable to Log4Shell (CVE-2021-44228). We have not used the Java logging framework in our Detec programs.
Several so-called SDK’s have been implemented in the Detec programs. We have received responses from most manufacturers (e.g., Hikvision and Dahua) stating that these are not vulnerable to the Apache security hole (CVE-2021-44228).
In addition, we have run several tests using the test tools that have been made available to check if our software is vulnerable. All the tests that have been performed have given an APPROVED result.
It may also be a good idea to update Microsoft Defender as an additional security:

Ingen bekymringer angående Log4Shell / APACHE Log4j i Detec Software

Our absolute best-selling 2MP camera, DTC-OIMD2MPWDIRP-G2, which also come as 4MP, DTC-OIMD4MPWDIRP-G2, is probably so popular because you do not need a junction box. Of course also because it has a superb image quality because it has a lavish chip and DSP.
This mini dome is also super easy to assemble. So it has no "pig-talk" - a lot of wires and connectors that must be curled into an overly narrow junction box, but proper connectors straight into the camera
.
.
.
And there is usually only one data cable you then connect to the RJ45 connector. You can therefore mount this mini dome directly on the wall or straight up to the ceiling.
We have noticed that most people want a wall bracket when the camera is mounted outdoors. There are probably two good reasons for this. First, the glass is more shielded from direct precipitation and sun. Secondly, the camera comes a little further out from the wall, so that springs such as window frames and similiar do not block the view when used for traditional facade surveillance.
The most used bracket.

Main Benefits of using Video Surveillance for Fire Detection
There are several benefits of using video- and temperature monitoring as a solution for fire protection. The system can cover large areas by placing the cameras in strategic places, providing very early detection of fires. This assumes that the cameras are strategically placed in relation to the objects to be detected. In cases where the objects are "hidden behind" or "in the shadow of" other objects, it is recommended to set up several cameras so to get a clear overview, covering all the objects to be detected. This also helps a lot in terms of getting early warning as possible.
Another advantage of using video surveillance is that the video images give the fire station significantly more information and a better overview of the situation, compared with other fire protection solutions. This provides the fire service a stronger basis for evaluating whether an emergency response will be necessary or not.
The solution is often combined with controllable PTZ cameras (Pan-Tilt-Zoom), which allows the fire department to follow the fire and zoom in where the fire is. Detec has also added several optional "GDPR features" that can be used. An example is: the PTZ cameras are activated only in the event of an alarm and the image video is then logged. This gives the fire service an important basis when the extinguishing work is completed and the cause of the fire is to be investigated.
Detec Next Fire is a independent system that can be combined with other existing traditional fire protection solutions. This can also be fire protection in the form of sprinkler systems. When the system warns of a fire or exceeded temperature limit, the operator or fire department will have the opportunity to trigger the sprinkler system if deemed necessary. In other words, Detec Next Fire is very flexible and offers many possible solutions and combinations for customers.

The Detec IR PTZ Minidome was launched in the first quarter of 2017. It proved to be a popular model due to its favourable price, compact size and its minidome shape which included PTZ functionality. A criticism to the camera has been digital WDR - but not anymore. With true 120dB Wide Dynamic Range, the camera has the same specifications as one would expect from fixed minidomes.
The focal length of the zoom lens has now been increased to 4.8-120mm, providing a full 25x optical zoom in a very compact camera. This provides a horizontal viewing angle from 57.6 ° to 2.5 ° degrees. There are settings in the camera that allow the camera to focus on both very short and long distances.
Other upgrades include more image enhancement techniques, multiple privacy zones, maximum resolution at full frame rate on mainstream (1920x1080 at 50 frames per second at 50Hz), support for H.265 main profile, better audio compression techniques with up to 64 Kbps bitrate, and improved cyber security.
New image enhancement techniques include noise reduction, fog removal, electronic image stabilization, regional exposure and regional focus.
Combined, these enhancements will make the camera appear significantly upgraded and give a completely different impression of image quality than the previous model. Still, the price level will be kept the same.

Detec AS has decades of experience in producing video surveillance machines on its own and picking out components that are reliable and at the same time provide good value for money. Over the years, thousands of video surveillance machines have been sold through Detec AS. The company's employees therefore have the prerequisite experience for choosing solutions with great quality.
Since 2016, Detec AS has outsourced production work to external partners. This time, the choice fell on a new partner in the UK due to quality, delivery ability and price. Our partner has given us the opportunity to pick components among the world's most renowned IT manufacturers.
We import all servers to our headquarters for quality control. When we sell a server with Detec Next VMS, we install the software on the server and run all new Windows updates before sending the server to the customer. For each batch we receive from the manufacturer, we ask that they install the latest Windows updates. This can be very timesaving compared to buying other Windows servers / PCs that may have remained with a distributor for a while.
A quality VMS should at least handle 64x Full HD cameras. The server can be used with, for example, Milestone, Genetec Omnicast, Avigilon Control Center Software, Ecacqvision, Mirasys, Dahua DSS Pro, Arecont Vision Contera VMS, HikCentral, and more.

]]>The VXI series provides highly reliable outdoor detection with a range of up 12m and a 90° field of view. It is used for both residential and commercial applications, detecting intrusions in courtyards, gardens, driveways and secured car parks. The VXI-CMOD, wi-fi connected camera module can be retro-fitted onto any existing wired VXI models (VXI-ST, AM, DAM), fitting snugly on top, creating a single unit visual verification system that can be added to an existing alarm panel or be used as a standalone solution.
When the sensor detects an intruder, the integrated camera module is activated: it records the event and sends a notification to the owners’ paired mobile phone(s) (iOS or Android). The notification is made through an app called OPTEX Vision and the event can be accessed by up to three users simultaneously*. By opening the app, the recipients can access the VXI-CMOD’s live view, and the stored two-second pre-alarm and 28-second post-alarm recording of the event for verification. The camera module’s live view can be accessed anytime through the OPTEX Vision app.
The VXI-CMOD features a 180° panoramic view at 1080P HD, with built-in infrared LEDs for enhanced vision at night. VXI-CMOD is also equipped with a microphone. Via the app, the owners can access the camera’s live view and audio at any time. As the solution is led by the sensor which is truly pet-tolerant and features sensing analytics to perform in any weather condition, it will only send a notification when a person or vehicle has been detected.
Masaya Kida, Managing Director of OPTEX EMEA says the new camera module adds visual verification to the VXI series technology: “This solution helps to solve two problems – one is to see what or who has triggered the alarm so immediate action can be taken; the second is to be notified only when needed and not receive nuisance alarm every time the cat or dog is out.
“As well as being used for security reasons, the application can be used for everyday convenience, such as being notified when a delivery has arrived, or members of family have returned home. We believe this solution will help to address the skepticism over the reliability of outdoor PIR sensors.”
